89791485So, you just bought your little girl a doll from Dollie & Me – welcome to the world of 18-inch dolls! Her new doll is more than just a toy. She’s a window into the world of creative, imaginative play. Dolls help to expand the way in which your little girl sees, feels and interacts with the world. Of course, none of this is possible if Dollie sits on the shelf, collecting dust. Here are 10 types of little girl activities and play ideas to get Dollie out of the closet and into the world!
  1.  Play teacher.
Your little girl’s Dollie isn’t just cute – she’s smart, too! Playing school is a fun and inspiring little girl activity. Set up a pretend classroom in the playroom, in the basement or around the kitchen table. Gather pencils and notebooks, and provide your little girl with a whiteboard for teaching lessons. Dollie will be headed to doll college in no time!

  2. Get “dolled” up.
18-inch dolls have long, beautiful hair that’s perfect for styling! Have your little girl play hairdresser with her doll by providing her with a little chair, a wire brush and a variety of hairclips and bows. Consider styles for different events: a wedding, ballet class, soccer practice, etc.

  3. Stage a fashion show.
With so many great outfits to choose from, a fashion show for your little girl’s doll is an obvious choice. Set up a runway using a fancy table cloth and cardboard boxes, and give your daughter’s doll a chance to shine. A strand of twinkle lights from the holiday decorations box adds an extra glamorous ambiance.

  4. Get your groove on.
Your little girl’s doll has many hobbies, but one of her favorites is dancing! Make a playlist of your daughter’s favorite music, and watch as she and Dollie strut their stuff. Consider popular children’s music like Hannah Montana, Kidz Bop or the Frozen soundtrack.

  5. Make Dollie a star!
Put your little girl behind the camera and make Dollie a star. Few things encourage creativity like acting. Help your little girl to write a script and direct her own movie or play. Preserve the memories by using your DS, LeapPad or iPad to capture real footage.

  6. Throw Dollie a birthday party.
Everyone has a birthday, and Dollie is no exception! Help your little girl plan a day that Dollie will never forget. For tips on planning the perfect party, check out these fabulous party ideas that will have everyone talking!

  7. Play store.
Playing store is a great way for little girls to learn about counting, spending and saving money. Set up a pretend store in your daughter’s bedroom, and use fake or real money to help Dollie shop for things from around the house.

  8. Go for a bike ride.
If there’s anything that dolls and little girls both love, it’s fresh air! Secure Dollie in the basket of your little girl’s bike so she can take her for a spin.

  9. Spend a day at the park.
A day at the park with Dollie is a day to remember. Have your little girl dress her 18-inch doll in a sporty play outfit and take her to the neighborhood play lot. Push Dollie on the swings or send her down the slide. She’s sure to have a great time.

  10. Have a movie night.
After a long day of playing with Dollie, a relaxing movie night is in order. Build a pillow fort and put on a flick the whole family can enjoy. Don’t forget the popcorn!
These are just a few ways to get Dollie off the shelf and out into the world. If this list has inspired you to add to your little one’s Dollie collection, be sure to check out our entire selection of 18-inch dolls!
